Privacy Policy
How we collect, use, and protect information when you visit this site.

Last updated: May 2, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Deep Fried Brain collects, how that information is used, and what choices you have when you visit this website.
Overview
This site does not require account creation or login. Information is collected in a few limited ways:
- automatically through analytics and similar web technologies;
- if you choose to submit a comment; and
- through routine security, hosting, and anti-abuse logs maintained by the services that keep the site running.
Information We Collect
Analytics and Usage Data
This site uses Google Analytics to understand high-level traffic patterns such as page views, referral sources, device/browser information, and approximate location derived from IP address. Google Analytics may use cookies or similar technologies to measure how visitors use the site.
Comment Submission Data
If comments are enabled on a page and you submit one, the site may collect:
- your name;
- your email address, if you choose to provide it;
- the content of your comment;
- the page URL, post title, and reply target needed to attach the comment to the correct discussion; and
- technical anti-spam fields used to filter automated submissions.
Submitted comments are moderated before publication. If your comment is approved, your name, comment text, date, and reply structure may appear publicly on the site.
If you provide an email address with a comment, it is not displayed publicly as an email address. It may be retained for moderation purposes and may be converted into a one-way hash used to request an avatar image from Gravatar or a similar avatar service.
Security and Anti-Abuse Data
When comment submission is enabled, the site may use Cloudflare Turnstile or a similar anti-bot service. The hosting stack and comment-processing services may also log IP address, user agent, referrer, and related request metadata for security, fraud prevention, and troubleshooting.
How We Use Information
Information collected through the site may be used to:
- operate, maintain, and secure the website;
- understand aggregate traffic and content performance;
- review, moderate, and publish approved comments;
- detect spam, abuse, fraud, or misuse; and
- investigate or respond to technical issues.
Cookies and Third-Party Services
This site may use cookies or similar technologies through third-party services, including:
- Google Analytics, for traffic measurement and aggregate reporting;
- Cloudflare Turnstile or similar anti-abuse tooling, when comment submission is enabled; and
- Third-party destinations you choose to visit after clicking outbound or affiliate links.
You can usually control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect how some third-party features behave.
Affiliate Links and Outbound Links
Some pages contain affiliate links or commercial links. If you click one of those links, the destination site may collect information under its own privacy policy. Deep Fried Brain does not control how third-party sites collect or use data once you leave this site.
When Information Is Shared
Information may be shared with service providers only to the extent reasonably necessary to operate the site, such as analytics, hosting, anti-spam, avatar, and comment-moderation infrastructure. Information may also be disclosed if required by law, to protect the site or its users, or as part of a business or asset transfer.
Deep Fried Brain does not sell your personal information.
Data Retention
Analytics and server-side operational data may be retained for as long as needed for reporting, security, and maintenance. Comment submissions and approved comments may be retained as part of the site’s publishing and moderation records unless removal is required for legal, operational, or editorial reasons.
Your Choices
You can:
- avoid submitting personal information by not using comment forms;
- omit your email address when a comment form marks it as optional;
- disable or limit cookies in your browser; and
- leave this site before interacting with third-party services or affiliate destinations.
If you want a published comment reviewed for removal or correction, use the contact page on this site.
